CORE empowers youth to grow into confident, capable leaders through hands-on outdoor adventure. Founded in 2024 and based in Morganton, North Carolina, CORE serves students ages 7–18 with tranformational outdoor experiences in activities like backpacking, climbing, canoeing, caving, camping, and hiking, alongside community service and environmental education. By spending meaningful time outdoors, CORE equips students with the skills and confidence needed to become compassionate leaders and responsible stewards for future generations.
We’re committed to making our programs accessible for our community. We offer need-based scholarships, transportation support, and free gear lending to help remove as many barriers as possible for families. While our programs are open and welcoming to all, we place a special focus on creating space for those who may need a little extra help breaking into the outdoors, such as girls and participants from lower-income households. We strive to foster a culture where every student, participant, or volunteer feels safe and respected, regardless of race, religion, identity, experience level, or economic background.
Everyone deserves the chance to connect with nature, and we work hard to make that possible.
